    Julia Holter - Goddess Eyes

Ever since I put her on my all female mix last year, LA’s Julia Holter has captured my attention. She constructs these dramatic, sometimes otherworldly compositions that stray from much of the current influence in indie music. It’s hard to blog about just one song, because it can be removed from it’s context - but at least it’s a way to draw you in to the body of work. Her album Tragedy was released yesterday on Leaving Records along with one of the best videos I’ve seen this year.
