Soap Collectors - Ladies and Gentlemen

My buddy asked me what I thought about this group Soap Collectors yesterday (whom I’d never heard of) and then 20 minutes later I owned their album. This relatively new band out of Portland feels like a unique blend of St. Vincent, Dirty Projectors and fellow Portlanders, White Hinterland. Their record Tape Side features some outstanding female vocals accompanied by super mellow, beat-laden instrumentals that will ease your spirit.  Soap Collectors definitely hit on some great moments in their debut album. My favorite tunes so far besides the featured “Ladies and Gentlemen,” are “An Introduction,” “Windows (Remix),” and the lengthy groove “Lovely.” Stream and purchase on Bandcamp.
