Magical Mistakes - Something So Natural

Erik Luebs is a Southern Californian turned world traveler who’s latest location has been the forest in Kyushu, Japan. Over the weekend he sent me his brilliant new album Dislocation, which is the result of his adventures and obvious love for the country he currently resides in, since a few of the songs (including this track) are sung in Japanese. After hearing these tracks, I wouldn’t be surprised if the project’s name Magical Mistakes is a way of describing how this body of work was created. This album is packed with fresh sounds and clever characteristics - the kind that make music nerds like me crack a huge smile. Check out “Something So Natural,” and stream another track “Fetishization” on his Soundcloud. Also, hear his older work and stay tuned for the album release on his website.
