Exray’s - Forest of Sand (Premiere)

This coming Friday night I’m honored to present Exray’s and Tim Cohen’s Magick Trick album release party at Cafe Du Nord. In celebration of the nearly released debut record (out tomorrow), Exray’s let me premiere one of their new songs called “Forest of Sand.” As the song’s title suggests, you can expect it to be pretty surreal. It kicks off in a frenzied state of piercing feedback supported by a heavy bass beat which subsides, slightly, in intensity around each verse. Each time I listen to this track I imagine film’s like Dali’s Disney film Destino (watch it here), as a perfect visual companion.

The abstract sounds in the album don’t stop at this song. One of the reason’s the release has me fired up is because it’s so unique and complex from beginning to end. You really have to dive into the layers of the music to appreciate it best, and then you’re hooked! Buy the album on Howell’s Transmitter, love it and then come party on Friday night!
