Alex Bleeker & The Freaks - Prisoner of the Past

One week ago today saw the release of Alex Bleeker & The Freaks’ debut self-titled album on Underwater Peoples. This is yet another impressive band tied in with the New Jersey magic that’s been happening this year. In fact, the band actually consists of members of Real Estate plus Julian Lynch - although clearly bassist Alex Bleeker leads this particular arrangement. “Prisoner of the Past” is a brief tune that starts gentle until you crash into this wall of shredding guitar midway. Nothing to it really; just a simple, solid song. Much thanks to IAE for getting me into this scene. These garden state sounds really cater to my liking of understated song-writing and bad ass guitar solos. Happy weekend everyone!
