    The Drums - Submarine

I’ve noticed some buzz generating about this band lately and so the decision was made to personally investigate. My findings: the buzz-makers are not crazy, these guys are actually pretty sweet! After The Drums established themselves late last year, they made moves from central Florida to Brooklyn where their retro pop-punk jams could reach the hippest of ears. Their core style is a toast to early of pop music in the 1950’s with focus on catchy lyrics and light melodies. Layered on top are heavy hints of early punk, surf music and 80’s pop to boost the character of each tune. Considering the range of influence, you can be sure they can come up with some pretty fun songs. The Drums just released their debut EP Summertime!, so look for word to spread fast about this group!
