Monsters of Folk - Slow Down Jo

Well it’s Monday morning again! I must head off to work shortly, but first I wanted to post one of the calmest songs I’ve heard in a while. Yeah sure, this song may induce naps or nap-like behavior, but it’s “slow your roll” message cannot exactly be delivered with a disco beat right? Monsters of Folk is the latest supergroup to stir up the music world, and I must say their album is pretty solid. Like most supergroups, band members Conor Oberst, Jim James, M. Ward and Mike Mogis trade roles in each song. Fortunately, the collaborative effort must have been very harmonious, because the songs come together nicely and the different voices match up well too. The album drops tomorrow, but in the mean time you can preview songs on their Myspace!
