Emil and Friends - Girlfriend on Girlfriend (Phoenix and Michael Jackson Cover)

I’m pretty much over the whole MJ thing, but then Emil and Friends had to drop this track in my inbox a couple days ago. Though I’m not interested in any more tribute stuff, I’m too impressed with this creation to deny it a post. Honestly, if Michael Jackson hadn’t passed away, the idea to make this song may never have occurred. Plus, it really leans a lot more towards the Phoenix end anyway. What Emil gives us here is part cover, part remix, part mash-up and part original composition - like a mythical creature of song. Call it what you will, this tune should sweeten up your week! Also look for the Emil and Friends Downed Economy vinyl single release on July 27th!
