Noah and the Whale - The First Days of Spring

Although summer is now upon us, Noah and the Whale are experiencing the seasons at their own pace. “The First Days of Spring” is our first taste of the upcoming album from this UK quartet. Although it won’t be available until the end of August, the band has offered up the title track for download on their website. Stretching out nearly seven minutes, this song unravels slowly but never lets your mind get ahead. While simple at its core - with a consistent guitar riff and minimal drum beat - the song is decorated in rich string arrangements which come and go throughout, and eventually end the song with full force. Apparently, the band is working on a film that will run the length of the album!
