David Thomas Owen IV - Armageddon *Update: New download link, player still not working!

I’m pleased to introduce David Thomas Owen IV, a brand new solo project from former lead guitarist of the Canton, Ohio group Lovedrug. After leaving the group Owen packed his gear and headed for Big Sky country where he “purge[d] himself of years of bottled-up emotions.” The Montana mountains also matched him up with a piano which became the centerpiece for his debut album Solace My King. Between his dark piano playing and his high register singing - like Ben Bridwell of Band of Horses - Owen creates a very successful contrast to convey his mythical tunes. “Armageddon” is one of his more easily approachable songs from the album, with lively piano riffs and higher energy singing style, even though, at times, the song warps into off-beat moments catching the listener off guard. Overall the album has wonderful characteristics and attention-grabbing dynamics which make it worth checking out as a whole. Solace My King will be out in stores July 14th, but in the mean time enjoy the freebie below and additional songs on Owen’s Myspace.
