Emil and Friends - Out West
I wrote about this Massachusetts group a while back but I just can’t get enough of their tunes. This is “Out West,” a mellow night-timey jam from their EP Downed Economy full of rich layered guitars and vocals. I would most likely put this style of funk and disco infused pop on a mixtape with groups like MGMT, Passion Pit, Phoenix or maybe even Empire of the Sun - if that gives you an idea of their sound. Get psyched for their new Downed Economy 7” single out on July 27th featuring an unreleased track called “Josephine.” In celebration of the release Emil’s Friends sent me over some remixes which can be found below.
